Yes. RPBuddy works on phones and tablets with a responsive interface. You can also install it as a home-screen app on iOS and Android for a native-app feel. Desktop is still the best experience for map building and detailed editing.
Yes. The Adventurer plan comes with a 7-day free trial and 50 image generation credits so you can try everything before committing.
You can still play — enter buildings, chat with NPCs, use the journal. You just can't generate new images until you subscribe.
Yes. If you love it and want more credits immediately, you can subscribe at any time during your trial. Your trial ends and billing starts right away.
Each credit generates one image — character portraits, building interiors, settlement exteriors. NPC conversations are unlimited and don't cost credits.
Yes. Active subscribers can purchase credit packs: 50 credits for $5 or 100 credits for $8. Addon credits roll over between billing cycles — they don't expire when your subscription renews.
No. Your monthly subscription credits reset on each billing cycle. However, purchased addon credits do roll over.
Yes. Cancel through your account settings or the Stripe customer portal. You keep access until the end of your billing period.
If you cancel within 48 hours of your initial subscription and haven't used any image credits, you can request a full refund. After that, subscriptions are non-refundable. Credit pack purchases are non-refundable.
When you enter a building and talk to an NPC, you're having a real-time AI conversation. The NPC has a personality, memories, relationships, and goals that shape how they respond. They remember what you've said in previous conversations.
Yes. When multiple NPCs are in the same building, secondary characters can join the conversation naturally.
When you're not interacting with the world, NPCs go about their daily routines — traveling between buildings, encountering each other, and living their lives. Time advances and the world evolves.
Yes. You can create as many worlds as you want. Each world is independent with its own characters, story, and settings.
RPBuddy is currently a single-player experience. Multiplayer is something we're considering for the future.
No. RPBuddy is an 18+ platform. Users must confirm they are 18 or older when subscribing.
RPBuddy allows creative fiction including mature themes within your private worlds. Your worlds are private and not visible to other users.
Content involving minors in sexual situations, real identifiable people without consent, content promoting real-world violence, and attempts to bypass content safety systems are strictly prohibited. See our Terms of Service for the full list.
No. RPBuddy does not use your content to train AI models. Your worlds, characters, and conversations are private to your account. See our Privacy Policy for details.
RPBuddy uses state-of-the-art large language models for NPC conversations and story generation, and dedicated image generation models for character portraits and art. We continuously evaluate and upgrade our AI stack to deliver the best experience.
AI models can occasionally produce unexpected outputs. If an NPC says something out of character, just steer the conversation — they'll course correct. We're constantly improving the prompts and guardrails.
RPBuddy currently offers: Oil Painting (classic fantasy), Retro Anime (80s/90s cel animation), Modern Anime, Comic Book, and Adult Animation.

Yes. You can delete individual worlds (which permanently removes all associated data and images), or request full account deletion by emailing support@rpbuddy.ai.
We keep your data for 12 months after cancellation so you can pick up where you left off if you resubscribe. After 12 months of inactivity, data may be permanently deleted.
